W-beam guardrail, also known as waveform guardrail, crash barrier, W-beam barrier, and road guardrail, is the most widely used safety protection barrier on highways and bridges both domestically and internationally.

The components of a W-beam guardrail include: guardrail plate, post, post cap, anti-blocking block/support bracket, connecting bolts, splice bolts, beam spacer, and end terminal.

Classification of W-beam guardrail: W-beam guardrails are generally classified based on installation location and collision protection level. Based on installation location, they can be categorized as roadside guardrails and median guardrails. Based on collision protection level, they can be divided into Class A and Class S. Class S guardrails are reinforced and suitable for use on particularly dangerous roadside sections, while Class A guardrails are used on specialized highways. In terms of waveform, they can be classified as double-wave guardrails and triple-wave guardrails. Surface treatments include hot-dip galvanized guardrails, hot-dip galvanized with powder coating, and epoxy zinc-rich coatings. Colors available include galvanized silver, powder coated green, white, blue, gold, etc.
